What it does. Type in an Earth weight and Space Weight Explorer recalculates it for every planet (and a few other bodies) using each one's real surface gravity relative to Earth's. A 100-pound Earth weight becomes about 38 pounds on Mars and over 200 pounds on Jupiter, using the actual physics, not made-up numbers.
Why it exists. This one started as something to show my own kids why "weight" isn't fixed the way it feels, and turned into a tool the science teacher at my school now uses too. Typing in your own weight and watching it change planet to planet makes gravity click in a way a textbook diagram doesn't.
The idea behind it. Weight is really just mass times a planet's gravitational pull, and gravity depends on how much a planet weighs and how big it is. Small, light planets like Mercury and Mars pull less; giant ones like Jupiter and Saturn pull a lot more, even though you're the exact same amount of "you" everywhere you go.
